A new video published by a delegation member in the Cortona On The Move international festival of photography, reveals the rear interface of the Canon EOS R3, emphasizing its enlarged viewfinder. Plus, a German camera website publishes the EOS R3 price (by accident or a rough estimation)?

Canon EOS R3 at the Cortona On The Move

It seems that the international festival of photography, Cortona On The Move, has been used as a ‘hidden’ or should I say, a modest stage to further reveal the anticipated Canon’s flagship, which is the EOS R3. We previously reported about the interview of Canon’s Product Business Developer at Canon Italia, by the Canon Academy Italy, held at the Cortona festival (read: Speed is the Main Feature of the Canon EOS R3, Says Product Business Developer at Canon Italia). A few days ago, Canon has organized a delegation of photographers for a quick workshop in the forests of Tuscany. In that workshop, the EOS R3 was handed to photographers.

EOS R3: Rear interface emphasizes the enlarged viewfinder

One of the photographers who touched the Canon EOS R3 is Gianluca Bocci. I know it sounds absurd, but as far as I know, this is the first video that actually shows the EOS R3 in the hands. This project which has been developed for more than two years is one of the most top-secret projects of Canon. In fact, a few EOS R3 Photos has been released in the Tokyo Olympics by Canon ambassador Jeff Cable. However, there’s not even one video unveiled yet. Anyway, in the video below published by Italian photographer Gianluca Bocci, there’s a demonstration of how the Canon EOS R3 fits in the hand, plus an overview of its rear interface, showing a pretty huge viewfinder. According to the Product Business Developer at Canon Italia, the R3 viewfinder is “A big news for sure”. The viewfinder is 12% bigger than the Canon R6 and R5. Check out the video:

Price(?)

One more juicy stuff. A German camera site called Digitfoto, which is an authorized Panasonic Premium dealer, published the price of the Canon EOS R3. According to Digitfoto, the price is 6,133.61 EURO (without VAT), which is about $7,220 USD. Explore the website screenshots below:

However, most probably this is a mistake since the EOS R3 hasn’t officials released yet. Furthermore, this price is too steep for the EOS R3, since estimations refer to a lower price point (below $6,000). So, is this pice published by accident or is it just a rough estimation?

What are your thoughts about this?
