Phantom 5? Probably not

It’s not going to be a new drone. Launching a new drone in New York in winter doesn’t seem like a smart move.

There are a lot of speculations out there. Many blogs are trying to analyze the event’s brochure, showing a couple of youngsters in a pool.  Some of the bloggers concluded that the pool structure resembles the shape of the Mavic 2 Pro camera, which is the Hasselblad L1D-20C with the 1′′ sensor.

FCC labeled OSMO POCKET WIRELESS MODULE

Furthermore, there is a FCC  (Federal Communications Commission) ID Label for the Osmo Pocket Wireless Module. FCC labeling appears before release of a product. According to the FCC label, the product is OSMO POCKET WIRELESS MODULE, and thus we can verify that the module is connected to the Osmo Pocket.

Osmo Pocket with 1′′ sensor

From now on, we can only speculate. DJI acquired Hasselblad, and indeed, Hasselblad L1D-20C 1′′ sensor camera was implemented in the Mavic 2 Pro. We covered this special joined venture before.

However, this leads us to the assumption that Hasselblad might be the camera behind the Osmo Pocket, that can be equipped with 1′′ sensor.

So there you go. A pocket size gimbal with 1′′ sensor. That could be nice.

Counterweight to the GoPro Hero 7 Black

It will be interesting to see if the Osmo Pocket competes with the GoPro Hero 7 Black featured HyperSmooth (gimbal free) technology.

Of course the main factor will be the price. We just have to wait and see. The curtains will be raised in 2 days, so stay tuned.
