A few days ago, we wrote about the cameras used to shot the Oscar 2019 films nominated for Best Picture and Cinematography. The article was a great success. A lot of our readers asked from us to do the same but with lenses, and they were right since lenses are crucial to imagery no less than cameras. So we made a little research, with the IMDB as our main reference, and created this cool write-up which summarizes and compares the films and the lenses used to shot them. There is defiantly higher variance regarding the lenses compared to cameras, but even so, it can be explored an inclination toward particular characteristics regarding lens type and optics manufacturers. The main optics companies here are Cooke, Kowa, Angenieux, Arri, Zeiss, Leica, and Panavision. The average price per lens is (at least) $20,000 (not for the average wallet) since it involves very precise, prestige and unique optics. Scroll down and enjoy!
