Irix Cine 15mm T2.6
The Irix 15mm is a fast, wide-angle, low distortion yet affordable lens that is dedicated to full-frame coverage. The lens completes the Cine-lens family which consists of four lenses in total, including a macro lens. The focal length is 11mm, 45, and 150mm (macro), and now a 15mm. The Irix Cine 15mm T2.6 is a Full Frame lens (43,3mm), covering Full Frame 35, Super 35, Red Dragon 6K, Arri Alexa, APS-C, MFT, Super 16 and other sensors.
Fully weather-sealed construction
According to Irix, the lens is constructed with rubber seals placed in all crucial points to ensure safety from rain and dust. Furthermore, due to the aluminum-magnesium alloy construction, the lens only weighs 1kg.

Final thoughts
We glad to see new affordable cinema lenses that can cover full-frame sensors. The Irix-cine lenses are good investment especially when the set has extended. Those lenses characterized by decent build quality and versatility that are valid factors in cinema glass. However, we haven’t seen one sample footage from the 15mm yet. We’ve reached out to Irix to get some footage. We’ll update the post in that case. What do you think about the Irix 15mm? Would you purchase that lens? Comment below!
