MAVO Edge takes the iF Design Award
The iF Product Design Award was introduced in 1954 and is annually conferred by the iF International Forum Design, which is the Hanover-based organization providing design-related services. The award, which spans multiple disciplines, has thousands of entries from around 59 nations every year. Furthermore, it rests on independence, rigorousness, and integrity, and the aim is to raise awareness of design among the public and the role it plays in our lives. This year, the forthcoming Kinefinity MAVO Edge 8K won the prestigious award among almost 10,000 submissions from 52 countries, and together with well-acclaimed products, like the new Mac Pro, for instance.
How the MAVO Edge was presented
This is how the camera was defined as stated in the iF Product Design Award: “MAVO Edge is a flagship 8K cinema camera by Kinefinity. With precision machining of carbon fiber camera body, the MAVO Edge is equipped with Apple ProRes RAW, allowing cinematographers to create without boundaries. Thanks to the high-integrated design and advanced manufacturing crafts, the cinematographers can get the way to free from traditional shootings with the MAVO Edge. Besides, the creative power supply also helps the traditional film industry to seek an innovative orientation for future development”. The MAVO Edge is one of the most anticipated and intriguing cinema cameras in 2021. The camera which has not officially released yet is being tested in the field by the cinematographer. The first camera arrived in Europe: Quick review
Kinefinity Europe has received the first MAVO Edge demo unit and made a quick video focusing on the hardware features of the Edge, among others the internal motorized e-ND, and its overall build quality, which looks promising. Unfortunately, test footage was not presented.
