According to Apple’s analyst, Ming-Chi Kuo, there is a chance that Apple will offer a large screen model of MacBook Pro (between 16 and 16.5 inches) in 2019. The new MacBook Pro will be armed with a completely “all-new” design in order to satisfy the Pro-Market.
Apple wants to renovate its MBP lineup, as Apple’s analyst, Ming-Chi Kuoby reports to MacRumors, by offering another option which is dedicated to editors, colorists, and designers. The all new MBP will be equipped with a larger screen (16 and 16.5 inches) and upgraded specs.

16.5-inch screen size
This 16.5-inch screen size in a MacBook would make a huge difference to anybody who needs more pixels (colorists) or more screen real estate in the field (editors on location). Although Apple was offering the 17″ PowerBook G4 before (that was first released in January of 2003 and was discontinued due to weak sales), appears that this time it might be a demand for that kind of MacBook.
Unfortunately, there is no other info regarding spec nor pricing. Of course, we hope that this machine will be tough enough to deal with ultra resolution native editing in order to fulfill the demands of the pros. We wrote here before about Apple is lagging behind Windows machines in regard to native 8K editing capabilities by not supporting NVIDIA GPUs. We will have to wait and see if this is going to change soon.
2019: Apple and the Pro-Market
Apple will probably release the 16.5-Inch newly designed MacBook Pro during 2019. We also believe that the long-awaited new (and upgradable) Mac Pro will be announced this year as well. Although there are rumors on the street that Apple has abandoned the pro-market, before declaring this inaccurate declaration, let’s wait a few more months to explore the potential of these new and different products.
