The ASUS ProArt StudioBook One is the newest member of the NVIDIA’s RTX Studio elite family. Those high-performance GPU based laptops are supposed to serve as the counterstroke to the MacBook Pros and are dedicated for professional content creators. Read more below about this beast.
The world’s first laptop with Quadro RTX 6000
The ASUS ProArt StudioBook One is the first-ever laptop armed with the mighty Quadro RTX 6000 GPU. This new RTX Studio joins to the 11 New RTX Studio Systems from Acer, ASUS, HP, MSI which brings the total number of RTX Studio systems to 39.
GPU based performance to enhance advanced content creation
The RTX Studios were invented for the sake of professional content creators, like filmmakers, editors, and colorists. On these type of applications, the CPU served as a bottleneck which causes a reduction in speed and workflow. In that case, the GPU served as a crucial factor to facilitate post-production processes by making them faster and with a better flow.

8K playback, 4K RAW editing, and color grading
Complicated tasks like 8K editing (or 4K RAW editing and playback), advanced music composition and color grading, demand high capabilities GPU based mobile system. Till now, the only valid option was Apple’s MacBook Pro. However, benchmarks testing have revealed that the Studio RTX introduced much better results in video editing, 8K RAW playback, and color grading. These results allow the RTX Studio to be used as MacBook Pro alternatives.
We wrote a couple of articles about the dedicated partnerships between NVIDIA and RED Digital Cinema, ADOBE and Blackmagic Design. These partnerships were initiated to develop and implement GPU based technology and optimization, which improves synchronization between RTX laptops and those applications. According to NVIDIA, one of the goals of the RTX Studio mobile workstations, is to deliver cutting-edge features that provide powerhouse performance in a thin, portable format.

Which RTX Studio is the best?
It seems that there is some hidden contest between RTX Studio’s manufactures to produce the fastest and most powerful laptop. If so, ASUS is winning, because the ProArt StudioBook One is the most powerful RTX Studio till now. ASUS defines ProArt StudioBook One as “The world’s most graphically-powered laptop” and “The world’s first laptop with Quadro RTX 6000 GPU”.
The implementation of the Quadro RTX 6000 GPU in a mobile workstation is indeed a significant technological achievement that demands an efficient cooling mechanism (see images below). According to ASUS, this laptop is the first to offer the NVIDIA Quadro RTX 6000 in a mobile platform, so users can run complex workloads, like rendering animations, edit 8K videos in real-time.

Final thoughts
The big question remains here is the “How Much” question. As written above, the GPU alone is about $5,000, which means the laptop can go up to $8,000 and beyond. The implementation of the Quadro RTX 6000 technology inside a mobile workstation demonstrates an impressive engineering achievement. That is not a laptop for advanced gamers, but a real solution for those who need it for their professions, like editors, colorists, animators, etc.
Would you invest that sum of money in a mobile workstation even if you need it? For now, there are other 38 RTX Studio laptops to choose from, and with a much lower price point that can sort you out in your professional production. Nevertheless, the Quadro RTX 6000 laptop is quite an impressive piece of tech. Furthermore, it’s important to note that the RTX Studios have not yet been tested vastly on the field, which is still dominated by the MacBook Pros. Will it be changed? Time will tell.
I would rather expect them fitting an OLED screen to this Beast
