Canon Asia has just published a ‘Preview Highlights’ video of the forthcoming Canon EOS R3. It’s basically the same video as published previously by Canon Korea, but this time the titles are in English. The video doesn’t reveal something new. It’s a good presentation though and might be a sign that the official announcement is just around the corner.

Canon EOS R3: Most updated specifications

These are the most updated and confirmed forthcoming of the anticipated EOS R3: 

  1. Low-light AF brightness range: minimum EV -7.0.
  2. Coordinated Control IS technology offers 8-stop shake compensation by coordinating the In-body IS and Lens Optical IS.
  3. Powerful Autofocus System to Support High-Speed Performance.
  4. Up to approx. 30 FPS continuous shooting RAW.
  5. New tracking subject – motorsports (car/bike) is possible using deep learning technology.
  6. Speedlite shooting with an electronic shutter is possible.
  7. Dual card slots accommodating CFexpress card and SD card.
  8. Advanced Movie Recording Performance Satisfying Professional Users.
  9. Features oversampling 4K movie recording.
  10. Supports internal recording of RAW movie.
  11. Supports Canon Log 3.
  12. Movie Servo AF is able to track people, animals, and motorsports subjects during movie recording.
  13. Professional Reliability and Network Capabilities.
  14. Magnesium-alloy body.
  15. High-speed 802.11ac (5GHz) Wi-Fi and wired LAN port are provided.
  16. Powered by Battery Pack LP-E19.
  17. Equipped with a new accessory shoe that can provide data communication and power.
  18. Multi Controllers are available.
  19. Smart Controllers as found in EOS-1D X Mark III are added (an optical pointing device integrated with AF-ON button).
  20. Features a side-opening Vari-angle LCD monitor.
  21. 3 individual dials as found in EOS R5.
