The art of camera rigging

Rigging your camera is an art. There are multiple ways and approaches to build and assemble your camera rig for professional videography/cinematography missions. Although it may look like overkill, a well-built rig can facilitate your work, grant you many advantages, and as a bonus, can make you look much more professional (and cool). We wrote an article titled The Art of Camera Rigging that elaborates further on the technical nuts and bolts of the rigging process so feel free to dive in.

  1. Wow! These are some of the worst designed (definitely the worst photographed) rigs I’ve seen. Half of them us a follow focus on a focus by wire lens. If these are handheld rigs, shouldn’t they have at least a top handle? Most don’t. Balance is always important for handheld shooting. Most of these fail at that too. Overall, this is a poor representation of what some people are doing with their Pocket camera rigs.

  2. The rig put together by Vu Tuan Anh like the most practical, with Monem Yousef’s coming in second. The huge zoom lenses on many of these rigs transform them into beasts that would be a hassle to shoot handheld. I was hoping higher capacity, faster and more affordable CFast 2.0 cards would arrive to slim down my own handheld rig, but things have not changed much on that front much since these cameras were released.

  3. Thank you for preparing the presentation

They are all beyond my budget capabilities.
Agree too bad c fast cards are up there. I used regular size sd. card and it works.128gb 170mega bits second. Records raw 6144x3456x24 +stereo 24bit 48k wav use Q5 variable bit rate.plus they have a new style SD card has a second row of contacts points underneath the original.
have to do bass guitar video again liting was bad last time, low budget why. Low Iso 400 or less. no noise. bass was excellent. Indoors at nite. Rokinon budget lens.f2.4 set on f4 or5 clicks. Place not photo lens full size sensor lens.using only the center of the lens. Have veydra lens for 4K bmpcc too. The 6K is awesome. Happy I have 1. Waiting for a deal on a sigma 18 35. Have to save up for a while.i like the 6K without all if the attachments. With a goid Small lens i dont have. All those attachment are too much hassle to set up and expensive. I liked the shot of the moon shooting camera.
    Thanks for sharing that wayne
