ARRI has released a short BTS (Behind The Scenes) video of its CPO (Certified Pre-Owned) program, demonstrating the high-level process of sharpening and validating secondhand cameras.
ARRI Certified Pre-Owned
ARRI CPO (Certified Pre-Owned) is a program that has been running for a few years now, offering secondhand ARRI cameras, lenses, lighting, and accessories, after a meticulous process as described by ARRI: “The cameras’ parameters, including image sensor quality, recording functions, connectors, flange focal distance, audio system, and ARRI Lens Control System are rigorously tested. The overhaul also includes an update to the respective model’s latest Software Update Package (SUP). CPO products go through the same final function test required for new equipment. This ensures that every piece offered for resale meets the high standards expected of it”. Hence, you can purchase your first ARRI (or second, to third…) with peace of mind knowing that the camera has been heavily checked and tested like new. This is one of the best options to get your first ARRI, although CPO cameras are much more expensive than, let’s say, eBay. but the pros are clear since you buy it from ARRI with a warranty.
One-year international warranty
ARRI Approved Certified Pre‐Owned products are covered by a one-year international warranty honored by ARRI service centers worldwide. After performing a final test on all product functions, ARRI engineers print and sign the official ARRI Certificate of Approval that is issued with every piece of CPO equipment, giving you the same level of confidence as you would have in a new ARRI product. ARRI adds: “For owner-operators, investing in ARRI equipment can be a significant career step, allowing them to work in more varied and challenging situations, to produce imagery of the most cinematic quality, and to satisfy the requirements of the most demanding clients.
