Atlas Orion 21mm: “World’s widest front anamorphic lens”

As stated by Atlas: “Pushing the boundaries of what was possible when designing a wide-angle anamorphic lens from the ground up, the Orion 21mm represents a previously unattainable wide-angle anamorphic field of view using a front anamorphic system”. Indeed, the company has decided to invest a solid amount of R&D to allow filmmakers to get wide-angle X2 anamorphic shots. This brand new Atlas Orion 21mm complements their also new 25mm T2 debuted in September 2021. The result (as described by Atlas): “A pleasing level of character and distortion in a lightweight and compact form, all with a 124º horizontal field-of-view – the widest horizontal field-of-view of any Cinemascope format 35mm motion picture camera lens in production”.
