Initial Insights
As for 2020, Canon offers 7 types of Cinema EOS cameras with a broad range of price points (from $2,700 – Canon EOS C100 Mark II, till $33,00 – Canon EOS C700 Full-Frame). That diversity allows filmmakers to choose their best match for a specific job. Every model and its own pros and cons. In my opinion, the most interesting (and promising) model is the new C70, which is armed with an RF mount. Of course, this model was designed to meet the needs of the Run N’ Gun shooters and less relevant for high-end productions. For those who want a FF beast that delivers RAW, the C500 Mark II could fit. Furthermore, after taking a glimpse at the table, the C700 looks like kind of a cannibalized product. Don’t you think?
