The price of the 1DX Mark III was on the plateau for years, with a stiff price tag of $6,500 which is not cheap at all, especially for a DSLR body. However, the announcement of the new mirrorless flagship EOS R1 has naturally caused that price to drop. There’s no official new price announcement by Canon, but the EOS R1 can’t cost more than its DSLR twin. Thus, the price must be lowered.
