A few seconds after the announcement of the EOS R1 ($6,799 on Amazon) which is Canon’s new flagship, its DSLR twin (1DX Mark III) gets a major discount. From $6,500 to $5,000. However, you will have to send an email to B&H to get that discount.
Canon EOS-1D X Mark III: THE flagship
The Canon EOS-1D X Mark III is the company’s 20-megapixel full-frame DSLR flagship camera, announced on January 6, 2020, by Canon. It is the successor to the Canon EOS-1D X Mark II, which was released on February 1, 2016. The camera is known for its super-high credibility and reliability and has been utilized by professional videographers for years. Key Features are:
- 20.1MP Full-Frame CMOS Sensor
- DIGIC X Image Processor
- EOS iTR AF X 191-Point AF System
- Dual Pixel CMOS AF, 525 Selectable Areas
- Up to 20 fps Shooting, ISO 100-102400
- 4K60 10-Bit 4:2:2 Internal Recording
- Canon Log and 5.5K Raw Video Support
- Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and GPS
- Dual CFexpress Memory Card Slots
Huge price drop: From $6,500 to $5,000
The price of the 1DX Mark III was on the plateau for years, with a stiff price tag of $6,500 which is not cheap at all, especially for a DSLR body. However, the announcement of the new mirrorless flagship EOS R1 has naturally caused that price to drop. There’s no official new price announcement by Canon, but the EOS R1 can’t cost more than its DSLR twin. Thus, the price must be lowered. Online camera shops and outlets have not updated the price yet, but you can get this wonderful DSLR with the new discounted price from B&H by sending them an email (till they update the new price on their website). Just send an email and you’ll get a link to the new price that will be activated for an hour, which is $5,000. The 1DX Mark III is still a solid camera that performs very well in all scenarios.
