Apple follows Adobe and AVID to make things easier to lockdown editors, by extending the trial period of Final Cut Pro X to 90 days. Read below how to get it.
COVID-19 benefits to editors and filmmakers
Recently, companies like Adobe and AVID have been offering decent benefits to editors and filmmakers that found themselves working from home separately under social distancing regulation-driven from COVID-19 (coronavirus) pandemic. The first company to jump on the wagon was Avid, which offered 90-days licenses of creative tools to customers at no charge. Furthermore, Avid has taken seriously the students that use its product by allowing them the privilege of free 90-day licenses as well.
Adobe was the second to offer students free at-home access to Creative Cloud Apps. Furthermore, bloggers have found that for Creative Cloud subscribers, there is a possibility/workaround to get two months for free. However, users have reported that you can get three months for free if you call customer services. Anyway, this benefit is most probably not connected to COVID-19 response by Adobe.
Apple extends free-trial of FCPX to 90 days
Today, Apple has announced that Final Cut Pro X (FCPX) free trial will be extended form 1-month to 3-months. Furthermore, according to Apple, If you’re using a previous version of the Final Cut Pro trial, you’ll be able to use this version free for an additional 90 days. Just be aware that most probably, this offer will be limited in time.
