The BMPCC 6K and the ATEM Mini

Blackmagic ATEM Mini was designed for multi-camera live streaming to the internet or broadcast applications and provides gaming consoles, corporate computer streams, or HD cameras a four-input live production switcher with an integrated control panel. The four HDMI inputs are available on the rear of the chassis and they input up to 1080p60 video. There is also an HDMI output for a projector or external monitor, a USB Type-C output for streaming up to 1080p60 video to a computer, and an RJ45 10/100 Ethernet port for system management, remote control, and upgrades. Blackmagic Pocket Cinema Camera 4K and 6K models can work as studio cameras with control sent via the HDMI connection to ATEM Mini. That means you can control the camera settings as well as the camera’s color corrector from ATEM Software Control and thus this combination composes a valid broadcast solution from home which is quite handy during the lockdown.

COVID-19 response: Mirrorless camera sales have dropped by 50%

It’s no secret that the COVID-19 pandemic negatively impacts our industry. Research has shown that mirrorless camera sales have dropped by 50%. This data was reported by BCN Retail, which is an analyst firm that collects daily sales data of mirrorless interchangeable lens cameras directly from online and in-person points of sale in the Japanese camera market. Just yesterday we’ve reported on the price reduction of Canon’s Cinema EOS camera. However, this reduction may be caused due to the combination of the pandemic and the announcement of the new EOS Cinema solutions (Canon C500 Mark II and C300 Mark III). One way or another, this is a plus for consumers as cameras have become more affordable.
