Canon drops the prices of C200 and C300 Mark II

This action by Canon was expected (and logical) since the born of the new Cinema EOS line like the C500 Mark II and the recently announced C300 Mark III. This instant $1,000 rebate was quality announced on Canon’s USA Pro Twitter account. Indeed, the C300 Mark III forms a valid alternative surpasses the legendary C300 Mark II in almost any aspect. Thus, Canon had to drop-down the price of its predecessors in order to prevent product cannibalization and offer the C300 Mark II at a reasonable price tag. Here are the new prices:

The C200 features Super 35mm sensor, Dual Pixel CMOS AF Technology, and 4K output in Cinema RAW Light. This camera was the pioneer regarding the utilization of Canon’s RAW light codec (Cinema RAW Light). One of the main problems concerning C200’s codecs is that there is no alternative in the middle. You can choose between RAW – high consumption data rate and MP4 8 bit, which is not good enough when heavy grading is needed. Nevertheless, the C200 considered a professional cinema camera that produces stunning images.
