It seems that NAB 2019 it’s all about new cinema lenses. It can be titled as Cine-Lens NAB. Anyway, we’re glad to hear that the Venus Optics has now made the 9mm f/2.8 Zero-D lens in (MFT) micro four-thirds mount. Also, the price is pretty affordable. Read below.
Wide angle, compact design, and robust
The Laowa 9mm f/2.8 Zero-D from Venus Optics is a Micro Four Thirds-mount lens offering an 18mm equivalent focal length. The optical construction also incorporates a pair of aspherical elements and three extra-low dispersion elements to control both spherical and chromatic aberrations for improved sharpness and reduced color fringing. A Frog Eye Coating has been applied, too, to repel dust and moisture from the front element of the lens to benefit working in harsh productions environments.
The MFT version is the newest one. The Laowa 9mm f/2.8 Zero-D is compatible with Fuji X, Sony E, Canon EF-M, and DJI DL mount as well.
Minimal distortion
As a Zero-D lens, this 9mm f/2.8’s optical design is specifically meant to limit distortion for precise and accurate portrayals of landscapes and architectural subjects.
