Canon has published a well-crafted 1-minute reel showing off the cinematic capabilities of its main EOS cameras. For the video, Canon has chosen the EOS C300 Mark III, EOS C500 Mark II, EOS R3, and EOS R5. And where’s the R5 C?

“Unlock Your Creative Potential with Canon”

That’s the title Canon gave to the new video. This short 1-minute reel contains well-crafted segments of Canon EOS cameras. As stated by Canon: “Take your visual storytelling to new heights. With impressive usability and imaging power, possibilities are endless with Canon Cinema EOS, mirrorless cameras, and Sumire prime lenses”. Although the video is supposed to demonstrate the cinematic capabilities of the camera, which it does, not all Cinema EOS were chosen for this presentation. Canon has picked the following cameras: EOS C300 Mark III, EOS C500 Mark II, EOS R3, and EOS R5, which is a logical combination of stills and the ‘C’ line cameras.

Where Are the C70 and R5 C?

It’s interesting that one of the most used Canon Cinema EOS was not included in the video. That will be the C70, which shooting cinematic videos are its bread and butter by Canon’s definition. Moreover, where is the recently announced R5 C? That was a valid opportunity to show off its videography capabilities, however, it was not included as well.

Top Cinema EOS combined with top Mirrorless

Nevertheless, we can assume that Canon wanted to show us that all its cameras can produce stunning imagery that can be paired and matched together. That means the full-frame ‘C’ flagship C500 Mark II can shoot alongside the fast mirrorless flagship R3. Moreover, the best image quality of the C300 Mark III can be paired with the impressive video capabilities of the R5. All of them can utilize the Sumire Primes very well. Indeed, the reel looks cool. What do you think about this Canon’s cinematic reel? Can it be compared to other reels made by high-end cinema cameras?
