A new reliable source confirms that the flagship model Nikon Z9 will be delivered to authorized dealers in January 2023. That means, 14 months after the announcement, and that’s a huge delta.

The source was spotted by the Japanese tech news site Digital Camera Life which found the information on Yodobashi Camera, which is s a major Japanese retail chain specializing in electronics, PCs, cameras, and photographic equipment. Yodobashi Camera’s sales rank fourth among consumer electronics mass retailers in Japan, which indicates that this source is valid. When checking out the Nikon Z9 page in Yodobashi Camera, there’s a frame that states (Google Translated from Japanese): “About the delivery date of this product: The next arrival of this item is scheduled for early January 2023. We will deliver it speedily as soon as it arrives”.
Major delays in all flagships
The Z9 is not alone in this. Actually, we’ve previously reported that Canon stated that It may take more than half a year to deliver the EOS R3.
