Developing and building a product implemented with a brand new technology is like riding a rollercoaster. You need courage! Today is the first month anniversary of the launch of RED HYDROGEN ONE. A month full of skeptical critics under heavy fire. Jim Jannard, the founder of RED Digital Cinema, addresses HYDROGEN users with a few words and statements. Read below.

We reported and wrote previously about the HYDROGEN ONE challenges being an ambitious and breakthrough project.

A month passed, so let’s explore the progress of this project by quoting Jim’s statements from today at H4Vuser.net.

Worth noting that Jim responds personally, immediately and constancy to users feedback. I am not familiar with any Founder nor CEO that does that. So he deserves this stage.

“No matter what I said, the tech reviewers just weren’t ready for HYDROGEN. I explained, as best I could, that we are different in every way to the other cell phone manufacturers. I tried to explain that we were a Media Machine that just happened to include a cell phone. I tried my best to get them to understand that we were a quickly and forever evolving piece of equipment and, just like the RED camera program… would be giving continuous updates to improve every aspect of the program. Deaf ears. All they saw was what they saw… pre-release software. And an announcement of a 2D module with no date. They wanted no part of what was “coming”… because it wasn’t out when it was in their hands.”

“Other companies maybe put out an update to do a bit of bug-fixing. They apparently had no idea whatsoever what we were about to do… no matter what I said. So in the end, their reviews are obsolete. No other way to say it.”

“Today is the 1st MONTH anniversary of the launch of HYDROGEN. The new features, performance enhancements and fixes have come fast and furious. As promised. Our customers know exactly what I am talking about. Instead of updates being a necessary evil, they have become unexpected presents. Some things were added that our customers asked for. Some they expected to take months. And some they didn’t see coming.”

“As I have said before and will say again… the launch was not an event, but the 1st step in a long road of continuous advancement.”

  1. Hmmm….
So it sounds like the deaf eared “Tech Reviewers” are stupid when they are not so much in Red’s favor (but yaay v. good all other times) And those “Tech Reviewers” haven’t ever seen or reviewed any other “new” and “evolving” product before, y’all know since no other company in the world ever manufactured anything new, different or evolving before.
Can we just also suggest these “Tech Reviewers” must be blinded (to complete their deafness). Cause they can see what they see and can bloody compare to what they saw years ago in other products

  2. Also guess whose words are these:

“The HYDROGEN ONE is a standalone, full-featured, unlocked, multi-band smartphone operating on Andriod OS that ‘just happened to add a few additional features’ that shatter the mold of conventional thinking.”
    – Jim Jannard – 2017

“I tried to explain that we were a Media Machine that just happened to include a cell phone.”
    – Jim Jannard – 2018

So much for things that just happen 🙂
