A company called ‘Great Joy’ has introduced an affordable full-frame anamorphic lens out of the blue. The lens is named like the company’s name (…’ Great Joy’) and it offers a 1.33X squeeze with an affordable price point of $750. Furthermore, the company introduces a 1.35X adapter that can push the squeeze to 1.8X. All available details are below.

Great Joy 1.35X Anamorphic Adapter

The company also announced a 1.35X anamorphic adapter (very similar to SLR Magic) that can be adapted to spherical and anamorphic lenses. The adapter transforms spherical lens to1.35X, 1.33X anamorphic lens to 1.8X, and 1.5X anamorphic lens to 2X. By setting infinity focus on the main lens, the adjustment on the adapter allows you to focus on subjects from 0.7m distance to infinity. The Great Joy Anamorphic Adapter provides a 297° ultra-wide focusing ring rotation for precision focusing.

Price and availability

Both products are in the final development stage. The price of the 1.33X Anamorphic lens is $749, and the 1.35X Anamorphic Adapter is $449.
