DJI is up to something and this is not unusual. The Chinese drone/gimbal/camera manufacturer doesn’t stop innovating in order to push the boundaries of consumer products. New pictures have emerged suggesting a new gimbal-camera hybrid. Is it the “Future of OSMO”

New pictures of intriguing hybridization

The pictures have published by OsitaLV. Are they valid? It depends. This source was the first to reveal the DJI FPV drone. Thus, these pictures can indicate a real product. The structure demonstrates possible capabilities of stabilized z-axis that could take other lenses like cine prime glass. This looks like a kind of hybridization of ZENMUSE X7, with bigger lenses, and even a sensor separated from the body.

Motorization

Furthermore, we can explore a large screen and a lens motor. We can’t tell at this stage if the lens is detachable – can be replaced, or integrated into the apparatus. Furthermore, the form factor looks smart and friendly, and built by two side handles, with focus and movement controls. It reminds us of the Letus motorized gimbal. OsitaLV claims that this is the next OSMO (the more professional version?). Anyway, take a look at the pictures above (4 out of 8 pictures in total).

Other pictures from the past

In March 2019, very similar pictures have popped out, showing a very similar product, which is also a motorized gimbal with a joystick on the top handle. So it can be possible that the recent pictures preset a more sophisticated version of that motorized gimbal, which allows the utilization of cinema prime lenses. Explore it in the slide below.

Final thoughts

Definitely, DJI is up to something, as always. After examining the pictures, our solid guess would be a motorized gimbal, style the LETUS Helix, with a high-quality lens and even a large sensor (Super 35 and above). What do you think this product should be? Take your guess below.
