DJI’s compact 4K drone has dropped to $139 on Amazon, down from its original $199 list price. The 30% discount puts the DJI Neo ($139 on Amazon) at what Amazon identifies as a 365-day low, offering an inexpensive way to capture aerial footage without a remote controller or previous drone-flying experience.

DJI Neo: 4K aerial video for $139

The DJI Neo weighs just 135 grams, making it one of the smallest and lightest drones in DJI’s lineup. Despite its size, it records 4K video at up to 30 frames per second and offers automated subject tracking, stabilized footage, and several preprogrammed camera movements. One of its main advantages is the ability to take off directly from the user’s palm. The drone can automatically follow a person while recording, allowing solo creators to capture walking, running, cycling, and other outdoor activities without operating a controller. The Neo combines a single-axis mechanical gimbal with electronic stabilization and includes integrated propeller guards. DJI rates its maximum flight time at approximately 18 minutes under ideal conditions.

Amazon lists a 30% discount

Amazon currently lists the DJI Neo at $139 instead of $199, a $60 reduction. The retailer labels the offer a 365-day low price and gives the drone its Amazon’s Choice designation. The listing shows a 4.4-star customer rating based on more than 4,400 reviews, with over 1,000 units purchased during the past month. For filmmakers, the appeal is primarily the price and convenience rather than professional image quality. The Neo’s compact camera and automated flight modes make it useful for behind-the-scenes footage, location scouting, travel content, and quick aerial establishing shots. However, the drone lacks obstacle avoidance and offers less camera flexibility than DJI’s larger models. It is also worth noting that this is the original DJI Neo, not the newer Neo 2 ($349 on Amazon).

A 4K drone for less than $140

While professional aerial filmmaking typically requires more capable drones, the DJI Neo delivers an unusually accessible combination of 4K recording, autonomous tracking, and controller-free operation. At $139, it could serve as an affordable secondary camera for creators who want occasional aerial shots without carrying a larger drone. The Amazon price and availability are subject to change.
