Titan: more of everything (sensors and cameras)
Insta360 is familiar with their high quality VR cameras: Insta360 Pro and Insta360 Pro II that are capable of capturing VR in 8K resolution. Well, seems that Insta360 wants more resolution. So how about 11K?
We wrote about the advantages of 8K resolution related to production and post (read here) . Generally speaking, there is a defiantly a merit for higher resolution, especially regarding VR videos that are made from several cameras.
8x Micro Four Thirds Sensors
The Titan is made of 8x micro four-thirds cameras, which is the largest sensor available in any standalone VR camera yet. The advantages are clear: Elevation in image quality and in cinematic characteristics like dynamic range, noise, and color depth. The goal is that your VR capture won’t look like VR, but more like a stand alone MFT imagery.
As stated by Insta360: “Micro Four Thirds sensors are the largest available in any unibody VR camera. They maximize Titan’s image quality, dynamic range, low-light performance and color depth, raising the bar for high-end VR capture.”
