RED has been listening to its users. The main Achilles Heel of the current RED’s LCD was the fragility of the screen and difficulties performing in daylight. The new monitor deals with those issues with two main improvements:  Durable glass and extra bright LCD.

Gorilla Glass LCD

The Monitor is equipped with Gorilla Glass that provides durability and resistance to scratches, although, there is no info regarding the generation of the Gorilla Glass. It’s important to mention that Gorilla Glass 6, is designed to be stronger than previous formulas and has twice the survival rate from drops than the current Gorilla Glass 5. So it’s a huge difference between Gorilla Glass 5 to 6. Hopefully, the monitor is armed with the sixth generation glass. For this price point, it should.

2200 nits of brightness

The 1920×1200 resolution display panel provides 2,200 nits of brightness to overcome viewing difficulties in bright outdoor environments, and the high pixel density (at 323 ppi) and 1200:1 contrast ratio delivers exceptional image quality. 2,000 nits is a crucial privilege for shooting outdoors with strong sunlight. Now those image data and histogram can be viewed easily. Watch the featured image of the article to explore the difference between the new LCD compared to other RED’s LCDs. Also, watch the video below to explore more features and characteristics of the  Touch 7.0″ Ultra Brite LCD.

What’s included

  • 1x RED PRO Touch 7.0″ LCD
  • 1x LCD/EVF Cable (Right-To-Straight) – 18 inches
  • 1x RED ARM – 9in
  • 1x RED MICROFIBER BAG – Large

Price: $3,750. That means $1,000 more expensive than the other Touch 7.0″ LCD.

Would you pay $1000 more for those features? Let’s know.
