Have you ever wondered what’s inside RED’s phone? Thanks to the guys at iFixit we all can dive right into the guts of the HYDROGEN ONE. Take a look inside.

Here, at Y.M.Cinema Magazine we have been following after the development of RED’s ambitious and most complicated project yet, the HYDROGEN ONE.

There are tons of things to say about the HYDROGEN that we’ll cover at the near future. Personally I am sure that it will be dramatically improved from any aspect. The development phase of cellular products is extremely complex, not to mention this kind of product.

Anyway, we found a video that tears down the HYDROGEN. The guys at iFixit were the first to make such a video so we all can watch and explore what is inside.

Take a look at the screenshots below taken from the video:

iFixit insights:

  1. Only standard Phillips screws are used, means that the HYDROGEN ONE is based heavily on adhesive.
  2. Entry to the phone requires removing glued on panels with the use of a thin blade, which may cause cosmetic damage.
  3. The display is tightly glued to a large mid-frame and will require a full phone disassembly to replace.

Have a look at the video below:

In my opinion, the phone is solid, especially from the design and structure aspects. If I’m not mistaken, the iPhone is also adhesive based as well. Furthermore, the HYDROGEN is massive and I don’t see it fall apart so easily.

Personal opinion about the HYDROGEN ONE

We are not going to review this phone at this stage. It’s not relevant. Of course there will be tons of bugs fix and malfunctions. It’s a natural stage at product development cycle.

We’ll take a look at a later stage after firmware updates and improvements, which we can see (via H4Vuser) that are constantly evolving and improving.

We believe that the HYDROGEN ONE will be another whole animal (much better) 1 year from now.

What is your opinion regarding the HYDROGEN ONE? Let us know in the comments section below!
